This was a genuine cry for help for an engineering company – that usually printed 3D parts for the aerospace industry – and was forced to pivot during the Covid-19 pandemic. Time was of the essence and the following was put in place:
- Encouraged the design and production of face shield intended for the NHS and key workers. The design and production of a medical grade ventilator valve and disposable laryngoscope were also overseen.
- Secured funding to purchase additional machinery to increase production
- Created a pricing structure for the NHS and navigated its procurement process
- Diversified and created sales channels for the facemasks with industries such as food production.
- Gained EN and CE accreditation
This business continues to thrive as a result of taking quick but informed decisions in order to secure its own future and respond to national need at a time of global crisis.
