This established family business was crying out for its potential to be unleashed. Over a sustained period, the following key issues right across the business were addressed including:

- A £2m saving was achieved over a five-year period by close management of product research and development
- Formation of specialist subsidiary companies allowed the core business additional services – such as aftercare maintenance
- Investment in proactive marketing that helped to raise the profile of the visit, which lead to a raft of awards, regular national news media coverage and even a government minister visit.
